About Orthodontic Treatment
For most of our patients, the reason behind receiving orthodontic care is to achieve a beautiful and healthy smile. If you don’t like your smile and feel self-conscious about it, we can correct your concerns with our varied treatment options, significantly improving the way you look and feel.
Once you have completed your treatment with Cochran Orthodontics, you will have the smile you’ve always wanted, and you’re going to want to show it off. We aim to make you feel confident and comfortable throughout your entire treatment. Our team is dedicated to ensuring you receive the quality care you deserve.
What is an Orthodontist?
Orthodontists are dentists specializing in the treatment of misaligned or crooked teeth. Orthodontists not only deal with the cosmetic appearance of smiles, but we also take care of the oral health of all our patients. After receiving and completing treatment, our patients find it easier to take care of their teeth with regular flossing and brushing. Therefore, there is a reduced risk of developing periodontal disease or tooth decay.
Some of the conditions Dr. Cochran and his team treat are the following:
- Crossbite, underbite, overbite and open bite
- Spacing and gaps between the teeth
- Overcrowding of the teeth
What to Expect During Your First Orthodontic Treatment Visit
During your visit, Dr. Cochran and his team will conduct an exam using diagnostic imaging technology. This will allow us to determine your teeth structure and health, and whether one of our various orthodontic treatments is right for you.
Adult and Children Treatment
Cochran Orthodontics believes that everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of. Our treatment options are available for children and adults, as you are never too old for orthodontic treatment.
With our wide range of less invasive and more discreet orthodontic treatments, our adult patients can seek to achieve straight teeth and a healthy and beautiful smile.
When children are young, new teeth are coming in, and their jaws continuously grow to accommodate them. It is during this period that teeth can quickly move, meaning that the treatment time is usually shorter. Some of the most common orthodontic appliances we use in the treatment of children’s teeth are bracers, spaces, and retainers.
This system treats crowded or crooked teeth in teens and adults in an inconspicuous manner. Invisalign treatment uses a set of clear aligner trays which the patient uses at all times, except when they are eating, flossing or brushing their teeth. The aligners are custom made to fit the teeth, making them nearly invisible.
During this treatment, you will receive a sequence of trays, each one being different than the one before, to gently force your teeth into alignment. With Invisalign, you can achieve the smile of your dreams without feeling self-conscious about wearing braces.
The Incognito™ Appliance System uses customized brackets, archwires and bonding trays, engineered to work in conjunction with each other, delivering targeted results. These lingual braces are placed behind the teeth, making them a fantastic and discreet option for adult patients.
SureSmile technology is similar to braces, as they both use brackets and an archwire to straighten crooked teeth, but they are more effective than metal braces. With this treatment, we use 3D imaging to model the realignment of your teeth and create a custom-made archwire to move your teeth more efficiently, therefore shortening the length of your treatment.
