There are several life-changing Orthodontic treatments & Invisalign is one such.
Straightening the teeth can make chewing more efficient.
It is also a great way to conservatively improve a person’s smile.
Traditional braces have been around for decades and have proved extremely effective but today Invisalign has become an appealing alternative for many patients.
There are several reasons why adults prefer Invisalign. They do not have to use ‘metal brackets’ and ‘wires’ to move their teeth into position. Having braces in the mouth can affect their smile, but with Invisalign they do not have to worry about this. Neither do they have to be concerned about the possibility of abrasions or ulcerations forming inside the mouth, which is what normally happens with the ‘traditional braces’.
Some benefits are that the ‘aligners’ used are clear and are custom-made to fit each patient’s teeth. They are visually more appealing and less likely to rub the inside of the mouth. It is similar to rigid bleaching trays and work by gradually moving the teeth to the position desired by the dental professional and the patient.
It takes approximately two weeks to fit the aligners so that the teeth are moved slightly and the desired final positions are attained.
Invisalign does away with food restrictions or problems with brushing or flossing because the patient can easily take them off before eating or drinking, which is not the case with ‘traditional braces’. Patients also spend less time in the dental office because this procedure normally requires that a patient be seen every six weeks to get a new set of aligners and to have their progress monitored.
In some cases, it is better to resort to traditional orthodontic treatment. If you are interested in finding out whether Invisalign is right for you, do consult a certified Invisalign Dentist or Orthodontist.
