Braces San Antonio
Braces are part of the Orthodontic Treatment to correct and straighten your teeth.
At Cochran Orthodontics we deal with all kinds of patients and understand that all of them are different. They all require an age-appropriate and unique orthodontic treatment plan which helps them achieve their desired outcome.
Therefore, we offer a broad spectrum of orthodontic procedures, including affordable braces for children, teens, and adults. We personalize your orthodontic treatment, and we aim to have our patients spend the least amount of time wearing orthodontic appliances.
Having braces doesn’t have to mean the traditional metal retainers of the past. At Cochran Orthodontics, we offer several types of retainers to fit the needs of all our patients, including clear and nearly-invisible braces.
Types of Treatment Options Offered at Cochran Orthodontics
Traditional or Metal Braces
Metal braces have been the most popular option for retainers. These types of dental appliances have been used by countless patients to correct common oral problems, such as crooked or misaligned teeth. Metal braces are made out of high-grade stainless steel, combining wires with brackets to align and straighten teeth. The technology of dental braces has advanced in leaps and bounds, and today’s braces are more comfortable, smaller and more attractive.
Metal retainers are relatively easy to keep clean, though you must avoid eating certain things, such as tough, sticky, or chewy food. If you want to learn more about metal brakets, for you or a family member, contact Cochran Orthodontics to receive an initial consultation.
As with traditional appliances, SureSmile uses an archwire along with brackets on the teeth, but it is a more efficient and technologically advanced treatment method. Using 3D imaging, we create a model of your teeth’s realignment, along with a custom-made archwire, which realigns your teeth more efficiently and quicker than metal appliances. Using this model, Dr. Cochran will plan the movement of your teeth, making your treatment more precise and efficient.
The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, almost transparent trays known as aligners. These aligners are created using 3D computer imaging to move and realign your teeth gradually. You will receive a series of aligners, each slightly different from each other which you will need to wear for around 20 hours a day, except when you’re eating, brushing or flushing.
One of the greatest advantages of the Invisalign treatment is that since the trays are practically invisible, no one will know you’re wearing them. This benefit makes this treatment a fantastic option for older teenagers and adults, or anyone that has a cosmetic concern for wearing the old style metal once.
